I modified MZ's great Bone Demon model to use as the Gloomhaven Flame Demon. I really liked the general body shape that MZ had created, but the Flame Demon (http://www.cephalofair.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Flame-Demon.jpg) obviously doesn't have the really cool tail, etc. so I had to chop those off. After seeing some of the incredible sculpts that artists have posted on here, I decided that I should learn to use Blender's sculpt mode, so I decided to sculpt a bunch of flame-demony details onto my denuded bone devil model. Here's what I came up with!
I spent the past week figuring out how to print this thing. In the end, this version is at least somewhat printable (posing the palms to face upwards was a huge help, as it made the fingers print way better). I've included a screenshot of my Meshmixer tree supports, which will hopefully be a good reference for anyone looking to print this guy. I printed it with a .25 mm nozzle and .05 mm layers; make sure that you make him with similarly detailed parts, as there's a lot of small details on here. Next step: painting. I'm hoping to get a "cooling lava" effect with the pattern that I sculpted onto his arms/back/thighs, so we'll see how that goes!
I've written up a blog post about how I made this remix, you can read it at http://objectforge.blogspot.com/2018/09/new-thing-gloomhaven-flame-demon.html
